In the very first year, funds were raised for privacy curtains, bedspreads and mini blinds in the Health Care Center.

250 people attended, raising money for tile in the Health Care Center and stained-glass windows in the Common Room.

1999- $40,000

Themed “Western Days Fiesta,” the event raised money for the front entrance gate and fencing.

2000- $57,500

“Western Days in Ol’ Tulsey Town” drew more than 225 people, raising money for assist door openers, a remodel of the Health Care Center bathrooms, an outdoor grill and other activity items for Adult Day Services, plus additional wrought iron fencing for the home.

2001- $46,000

About 250 people raised funds for a 14-passenger wheelchair accessible van during the “Ridin’
The Rails to Ole Tulsey Town” event.

2002- $50,000

Saint Simeon’s Foundation assumes the leadership role for planning Western Days, theming it the “Oil Patch Blowout.” Small sponsorship levels were established and funds were raised for a magnifier visual reader with color monitor in Assisted Living, two low-pressure beds in the Health Care Center, and two patio entryway canopies.

2003- $82,000

Attendance grew to 300+ at the “Oil Baron’s Bash.” Proceeds paid for dining area renovations in the Memory Center, upgraded lighting, wood-look flooring and decorative trim in Resident rooms in the Health Care Center. Here are attendees enjoying the event.

2004- $212,000

350 people turned up for “The Wildcatter Blowout” to raise money for the Health Care Center common living area improvements, renovations to the dining areas in the Memory Center, large print books, aviary for Assisted Living and the Health Care Center Residents, CD players, music CDs and videos.

More than 500 attended the “Roughneck Round-up” to raise money for a variety of needs including two low-pressure beds, a replacement wheelchair-accessible van, patio and arbor for the Health Care Center courtyard, aviary for the Memory Center, landscape beautification, a garden shed, resting station benches in the hallways, an indoor garden system, and funding for Life Enrichment activities and services and the Resident Benevolent Fund.

At the “Gusher Jubilee,” 475 attendees helped fund the $3.2MM Health Care Center modernization project, Life Enrichment activities and services and the Resident Benevolent Fund.

“The Oil Patch Party of the Century” helped furnish the $22MM Our Next Chapter Assisted Living and Wellness Centers project and Life Enrichment activities and services for the Home and Adult Day Services participants. With 550 people attending, we’ve outgrown our 15,000 sq. ft. tent!

550 people attended “The Driller’s Bash” at Expo Square to help fund landscaping of the new Assisted Living area, purchase a new vehicle, three whirlpool bathing tubs, low beds for Residents, a variety of medical equipment items and give money towards the Memory Center Renovation.

“The Driller’s Bash” drew 600+ people to help fund a $1.5MM renovation of the Home’s Memory Center.

More than 650 people made “The Golden Anniversary Gusher” a success. Proceeds were put toward specific activities and items for residents and animals, plus several funds including a new endowed Employee Recognition Program.
